Manos is a 22-month-old sweet little boy, who has been facing severe health problems since the day he was born. When the little guy came into the world, the doctors noticed that his eyes didn’t have an iris. As a result, he was transferred to the NICU for further tests. A few days later, he was diagnosed with a multicystic dysplastic left kidney, which means that his kidney doesn’t function at all.  Our little hero had to spend the first 2 months of his life in the hospital, since he was also subjected to surgery due to intestinal malrotation. When he finally got discharged from the hospital, his parents received the results of the genetic testing. Turns out that little Manos is suffering from Gillespie syndrome, a condition which manifests itself with anidiria, cerebellar ataxia και mental impairment.

Today, Manos is presenting with reduced visual acuity and psychokinetic delay, while he is often suffering from UTI’s. According to the orthopedic doctor who monitors his condition, little Manos requires a specialised reclining wheelchair, which will allow his easy and safe transfer in and out of the house. At the same time, he recommended that the boy starts wearing specialised footwear, since he was also diagnosed with pes valgus. 

All of these months, Manos’ mother has been doing everything in her power, in order to provide her child with the best medical care. Today however, she is experiencing financial hardship, therefore she is unable to cope with the cost of the wheelchair, nor the cost of the medical expendable supplies that her son requires on a daily basis. 

Little Manos has been struggling ever since he came into this world. Now is the time to stand by his side and to offer him a better quality of life. Together, we have the power to support this praiseworthy mother, who has sacrificed everything in order to raise her two little boys with dignity!
